First off, welcome to the board
Pleasant Company first started sending out catalogues in 1986.
Samantha, Kirsten, and Molly were the only girls in those first catalogues.
These are the only ones ever produced with the white bodies. It's generally accepted that they started making ALL the dolls with tan bodies once Felicity came out, with her lower cut dresses. However, many people here (and elsewhere) have dolls pre-Felicity with tan bodies.
1991 brought Felicity, 1994 Addy, 1997 Josefina, 2000 Kit, and 2002 Kaya.
I think the dolls were created in Germany until after Addy's release, as there are German Addy dolls. They are now made in China.
1995 was the start of the American Girl of Today dolls.
2004 started off the friend dolls with Nellie, and then last year Elizabeth.
Any other questions can *definitely* be answered here, this board is filled with incredibly knowledgable people!
